US – CDC has backtracked on testing and when it should be done this week, saying that some testing is not necessary this comes after some doctors say they want more testing not less.
The new guidance says that healthy people who have been exposed to Covid-19, “do not necessarily need a test.” as long as they don’t have symptoms of the virus. In the past with contract testing all individuals that were in close contact with a verified infected person were tested, called contact tracing. The CDC went further and suggested that anyone that was exposed to the virus and lives with someone who is a vulnerable individual should take a test to protect that individual. CDc says that if you were in close contact with someone who had CDC but do not have symptoms you should continue to self monitor yourself for symptoms.
