CIRCLEVILLE, OHIO- Are you a local artist who was planning to display your art piece at a show the third week of October? Well, you still have the chance. The new ArtsaRound Gallery on the Original Circle welcomes local Pickaway County artists to display and even sell their art pieces at “A Year Without a Show Art Show” running weekends Oct. 2 thru Oct.25. The gallery is located at 135 W. Main Street in the heart of historical downtown Circleville.

Artists age 16 and older can submit work for judging on Saturday, Sept. 26 from 10am to 6pm or Sunday, Sept. 27th from 1pm to 4pm. The show will open to the public Oct. 2 on Fridays 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

For a small entry fee, artists may submit a total of two pieces of framed, ready-to-hang art pieces in their choice of six art categories. The categories are painting, drawing, digital, mixed media, photography and the ever-famous “Pumpkin Only” category. Entries may be 24’ x 24”. Up to 30” will be considered at special request, but limited.

A first, second and third place will be issued for each category along with one Best of Show winner and one People’s Choice Award. Artists have the option to offer their pieces for sale during the show. Complete details can be found on ArtsaRound’s Facebook page.

“We were saddened that local artists who worked hard to prepare for a special event might not have the chance to exhibit their work,” states ArtsaRound President Dale Herron. “But this downtown show will still give locals a chance to win a ribbon, some price money and even the chance to sell their work during these difficult times.”

“We are so excited to offer a People’s Choice Award to one lucky artist,” says JP Pennell, ArtsaRound Gallery Director. Visitors will be able to pick their favorite entry and vote with a $1 donation. Donations will help offset the expenses of the show and support the non-profit ArtsaRound. The People’s Choice Winner will be announced at the end of the exhibit.

Visitors will have four weekends to view the exhibit which will encourage social distancing. Visitors to the gallery must wear masks due to COVID-19.

ArtsaRound formed in 2001 and is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting art and artists in Pickaway County and the regional area.

The ArtsaRound Gallery on the Original Circle is housed in the former Marfield Bank Building owned by the Pickaway County Historical Society, a rare pie-shaped property that was part of the original circle of Circleville. The gallery is manned by local volunteers on Fridays 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Hours may vary based on volunteer availability, special classes, gallery events, and other advertised downtown events.
