PICKAWAY – Senior Russell Orris has advanced to the Division 1 State Tournament for Boys Bowling. Russell bowled a 663 series at the OHSAA Central District Tournament. He opened the day with a 277 game.
Russell is the first individual in school history to advance to the state tournament. In 2014, the boys team advanced as a team.
Russell commented that he was thankful to his friends, teammates, and family on their support throughout this year and throughout his senior year.
“As a coach, I am incredibly proud of the adjustments Russell made all day, said Nick Bolyard Head Bowling Coach, “It’s extremely challenging to compete as an individual. You do not have your teammates with you to keep you going. But Russell showed tremendous focus, resiliency, and made incredible adjustments throughout the day.”
He will be competing on Saturday, March 6, at Wayne Webb’s Columbus Bowl.
