ATHENS – A woman called 911 on March 24th on a report of hearing a mountain lion scream outside of her trailer.
According to Athens sheriff department, deputies responded to Spreading Oaks Village, on Selby Rd, in Athens, for a possible animal complaint.
They reported that they could hear a mountain lion screaming outside their trailer. Deputies patrolled the area but had negative contact with any mountain lions, panthers, pumas, bobcats, or other animals.
Dispatchers contacted ODNR, who advised that there are no mountain lions in Ohio and that it was probably a house cat. No further action taken.
