Chillicothe Correctional Reaches Settlement in Inmate Paralyzation Case

CHILLICOTHE – Ohio has reached an agreement on an incident that happened to an inmate within the walls of their correction facility.

According to a court filing the State of Ohio has agreed to pay former prisoner Seth Fletcher 17.5 Million on damages after he was paralyzed during a takedown by prison guards.

Fletcher was serving two years at the institution for a convicted crime. In April of 2020 prison guards tackled, tased, handcuffed, and was finally dropped causing a serious spinal injury.

The 21-year-old man was diagnosed with a spinal cord injury and left parlayed from the chest down.
