ROSS – A man assaulted two deputies during a Unioto vs Zane Trace High School game on 12/10/21
According to Ross County Sheriff’s office on 12/10/21 at approximately 20:06 hours, Deputy Clark stated that he was working a special detail at the Unioto High School basketball game when Mr. Hill, who was a spectator, walked onto the court and started acting like he wanted to play too. Deputy Clark advised that Deputy Wooten then walked up to Mr. Hill and told him he needed to get off the court. Deputy Clark advised that Mr. Hill then swung his arm wildly as if to brush off of Deputy Wooten. Deputy Clark stated that Deputy Stewart then walked up to Mr. Hill and advised him to leave, which Mr. Hill refused. Deputy Clark stated that Mr. Hill then “squared up” in an aggressive stance toward Deputy Stewart. Deputy Clark then stated that because of Mr. Hill’s aggressive stance he came up behind Mr. Hill and put him in a “bear hug” to prevent Mr. Hill from becoming even more aggressive. Deputy Clark stated that he believed Mr. Hill to be intoxicated on narcotics due to his erratic behavior. Deputy Clark stated that he and Deputies Stewart, Wooten, and Smith then escorted Mr. Hill into a hallway so they could arrest him for Disorderly Conduct – Intoxication. Deputy Clark stated that Mr. Hill then punched Deputy Stewart in his face. Deputy Clark stated that he and the other Deputies, along with Sheriff Lavender began to restrain Mr. Hill further while attempting to handcuff him, and then Deputy Clark stated he heard a popping sound in his left pectoral muscle and immediately felt intense pain. Deputy Clark stated that Mr. Hill was then handcuffed, escorted outside.
Another incident was reported after the arrest, while in jail just a short time later they found Mr. Hill while in a holding cell completely naked throwing his clothes around the cell yelling incoherently.
