On July 26, 2022, the Southeast Major Crimes Task Force, along with the Athens County Sheriff’s Office, the Athens County Prosecutor’s Office, the Adult Parole Authority, and the Nelsonville Police Department conducted a saturation operation in The Plains and Chauncey. This operation targeted
drug trafficking and outstanding warrants.
Sheriff Smith states “Units conducted several knock and talks, as well as traffic enforcement in these areas. Suspected fentanyl, cocaine, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, and marijuana were seized during the operation from multiple individuals.” The items located will be sent to the Bureau of Criminal Investigations laboratory for testing. Numerous individuals will face criminal charges once the lab results are completed. The following individuals were arrested during the operation.
Larry Sheridan, age 46 – Possession of Drugs, F-4
Ivy Evener, age 23 – Active Warrants
Johnathan Rosser, age 32 – Possession of Drugs, F-5
Ashley Decker, age 37 – Active Warrants
