OHIO – President Biden will visit Ohio again on Wednesday for a special .6 Billion dollar bridge project that connects Ohio to Kentucky.
To kick off 2023, the President, Vice President, and Senior Administration Officials will blanket the country to highlight how the President’s economic plan – including his success bringing Republicans, Independents, and Democrats together to pass the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law – is growing our economy from the bottom up and middle out.
On Wednesday, January 4th, President Biden will visit the Greater Cincinnati area on the Kentucky side, and he will be joined by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, Senator Sherrod Brown, Governor Andy Beshear, and Governor Mike DeWine.
The President, Vice President, and Senior Administration Officials will discuss how the President’s economic plan is rebuilding our infrastructure, creating good-paying jobs – jobs that don’t require a four-year degree, and revitalizing communities that have been left behind.
The President will be highlighting the 1.6 billion approved for the new Brent Spence companion bridge that connects Ohio and Kentucky.
Opened in 1963, the Brent Spence Bridge is the centerpiece of a nationally recognized corridor for freight and interstate travel. It’s part of a critical highway network connection from Canada to Florida that carries more than $2B worth of freight every day and more than $700B worth of freight every year – an estimated three percent of US Gross Domestic Product.
The project is expected to begin by the end of 2023, but specifics about the project are still unknown. The work will continue until 2030 and may cause some disruptions to locals, which has business owners on edge.
