Two Serious One Dies in Brown County Fatal Crash

Pleasant Township – The Georgetown Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash that occurred on Free Soil Road near U.S. 52 in Pleasant Township, Brown County at approximately 5:19 p.m. on January 31, 2023.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2010 Toyota Corolla operated by Morgan L. Tolin, age 29, of Georgetown Ohio was traveling northbound on Free Soil Road when the vehicle traveled left of center. The Toyota struck a 2006 Chrysler 300 that was traveling southbound on Free Soil Road. The Chrysler was operated by Pamela L. Meece, age 59, of Georgetown Ohio, along with her passenger, Clayton L. Meece, age 87, also of Georgetown Ohio.

Pamela L. Meece was transported from the scene by UC Air Care to UC Medical Center with serious injuries. On February 6, 2023 she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased.

Clayton L. Meece was transported by Air Evac to UC Medical Center with serious injuries.

Morgan L. Tolin was transported by Ripley EMS to UC Medical Center with serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Georgetown Post.
