Laurelville Ohio – Twisting park and forest roads pass through deep ravines and dense woodlands. Scattered shortleaf and pitch pines growing on the ridges were once a source of pine tar for early settlers, hence the name Tar Hollow. Dogwoods, redbuds, and a variety of wildflowers color the hillsides in the springtime. Fall’s pageant of color is spectacular but during the Summer the park hosts events including the Water day event
This free event will have a giant water slide on the spillway, Bubbles, Foam Cannon, Water Balloons, and a Squirt Gun Battle.
The park suggests you bring some towels or some extra clothing because you will get wet.
This event will take place on Saturday, July 29th. The event itself is free and our Friends group will be selling ice cream floats and french fries again this year.Fun for all ages!!! Visitors for Tar Hollow State Park coming from the west (Chillicothe) will take US 50 E through Londonderry to Ohio 671, turn left onto Ohio 671 stay on Ohio 671 to State Route 327, turn right onto State Route 327. The main entrance to Tar Hollow State Park will be on the left.
