Chillicothe — WIC, or the “Women, Infants and Children” program of the Ross County Health District, was the nonprofit guest of the Chillicothe Farmers Market last Saturday.
The weekly market has a tent for local nonprofits, as well as fresh local food and more, from 8am to 12 noon Saturdays. It’s in the parking lot of the Ross County Service Center at 475 Western Avenue in Chillicothe.
Donna Lambert said that WIC has been around for about 40 years and offers nutrition and breastfeeding advice, food assistance, and more. Her more in the below video.
She was giving $30 vouchers for Ohio grown foods to WIC participants for the Ross, Pickaway, or Pike county farmers markets – as well as managing a gift basket drawing for WIC participants for the day.
This was the last of three times WIC was at the Chillicothe Summer Farmers market this season…but share this with mothers who could use their services for infants up to one year and children under five.
