Pickaway – A traffic stop was initiated around 7:18 this morning close to the Holiday Inn Express in Circleville.
When law enforcement attempted to stop the Buick Enclave, the driver fled Northbound on US-23, at times in excess of 100 mph.
When the officer advised dispatch of the fleeing vehicle, several several law enforcement depts including The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Dept, South Bloomfield Police, and The Ohio State Highway Patrol went into position to use spike strips to safely stop the vehicle. The first spike strips were placed by South Bloomfield Police, where it was a good hit on all four tires. At that time, the suspect vehicle had slowed down but continued north striking at least four vehicles. Unaware at the time that all four tires were spiked, a Pickaway County unit placed a second set of spikes close to Weigand Rd. The now smoking vehicle continued into Franklin County before the suspect surrendered without incident.

It was determined that Mr. Harmon had at least three warrants, and at least one of them being a felony.
The three warrants are from Grove City Police, Gahanna Police and The Franklin County Sheriff’s Dept.
