Ross County — The Grand Jury returned all 19 of their cases Friday, January 12th, with one case returned as a misdemeanor, and three others open for release to the public.
According to the Ross County Prosecutor’s Office, from testimony in the grand jury in one of the cases:
On December 8th, an Ohio State highway patrol trooper stopped a driver eastbound on US 35 in Ross County with an operator’s license suspended for child support. The trooper observed that 45-year-old Christopher D. Wolfe of Dayton was highly nervous in his interaction with the trooper.
A police dog alerted to the vehicle, and a search found multiple bags of narcotics in oatmeal and hot cocoa boxes. Wolfe admitted that he was paid $200 to take the drugs from Dayton to Portsmouth.
A total of 66.6229 grams of cocaine and 477.1441 grams of fentanyl were recovered.
For indictments on first-degree felonies of:
- trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound
- possession of a fentanyl-related compound
- trafficking in cocaine
- possession of cocaine
…Wolfe could get up to 11 years and $20,000 in fines. He is currently incarcerated in the Ross County Jail.
