Circleville, Ohio – A routine traffic stop on January 21st in Circleville, Ohio, led to the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of a significant amount of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Pickaway County Sheriff’s department initiated a traffic stop around 6:52 PM on a silver 2004 Ford Focus with no visible registration and a broken taillight. The driver, identified as Gustav Miller, was found to have a suspended license and the vehicle had not been registered since April 2023.

During the interaction, the Deputy observed the passenger, Keri Pinkerton, exhibiting nervous behavior and moving around the vehicle. Suspecting possible criminal activity, additional officers were called to the scene.

A canine unit from the Circleville Police Department performed a free air sniff around the vehicle, and the dog alerted to both the driver’s and passenger’s doors. A subsequent search of the car revealed a large quantity of prescription drugs, including morphine sulfate, alprazolam, tizanidine hydrochloride, and amphetamine, as well as drug paraphernalia such as six crack pipes and scales.

Both Miller and Pinkerton were arrested and charged with various drug-related offenses. Pinkerton was also found to be in possession of approximately 1 gram of fentanyl upon entering the Pickaway County Jail. She was transported to Berger Hospital for medical clearance.

“This traffic stop demonstrates the vigilance of our officers in identifying and apprehending individuals involved in illegal activity. The large amount of drugs seized in this case could have had devastating consequences for our community, and we are grateful for the officers’ quick thinking and actions.”

The investigation is ongoing.
