On January 30, 2024, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office received information regarding the whereabouts of Brady Terry, age 27. Law enforcement had been attempting to locate Terry pursuant to multiple Athens County warrants issued for Theft of a Motor Vehicle (F4), Receiving Stolen Property (F4), Theft (F5), Attempt to Commit an Offense (F5), and Failure to Comply with Order or Signal of Police Officer (M1). Terry had recently been posted as the warrant of the week on Sheriff’s Office social media.
Sheriff Smith said “A Deputy on patrol advised they had located Terry and were in a foot pursuit on Coal Run Road in Nelsonville. Terry fled into the nearby woods.” Multiple deputies were dispatched to conduct an area search. The Sheriff’s Office also deployed a drone and K-9 Unit to assist with the search. With the assistance of K9 Cody, Deputies ultimately located Terry in the woods. Terry was apprehended and transported to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail without incident.
