Columbus, OH – Understanding the housing needs of Central Ohio residents is key to ensuring sustainable growth for the region. To gather valuable insights, the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) has launched its latest “Leaders Listen” survey, in partnership with Measurement Resources Company and The Columbus Dispatch.
This brief survey invites residents 18 and older to share their experiences and opinions on various housing-related topics, including:
- Desired types and quantities of housing
- Approaches to development
- Connecting communities within the region
“We already face a housing shortage, and future growth will exacerbate it,” said MORPC Executive Director William Murdock. “This survey helps us understand diverse housing needs, ultimately shaping planning and policy investments.”
The survey results will be unveiled during the 2024 State of the Region event on March 15th at the Hilton Columbus Downtown. The event, titled “Connecting Communities: Building the Future of Housing and Transportation,” will be led by Mike Shearer, Executive Editor of The Columbus Dispatch, alongside MORPC leadership.
“Affordable housing remains a critical issue for our community,” said Shearer. “New data from this survey will help us understand it better.”
