The Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board (CSRAB) kicks off Black History Month with a series of free lunchtime programs in the Statehouse Atrium. Every Tuesday in February, starting February 6th, residents can discover inspiring stories and delve into history at these 60-minute presentations.
Highlights:
- February 6th: Ohio Humanities presents “The Lincoln School Story,” a documentary about mothers and children fighting for school desegregation.
- February 13th: Columbus Metropolitan Library dives into the history of the Underground Railroad and how Ohioans contributed to this fight for freedom.
- February 20th: Executive Director Suzan Bradford discusses the fascinating history and restoration of the Lincoln Theater in Columbus.
- February 27th: Magician, storyteller, and educator Rory Rennick presents “The Henry Box Brown Show,” bringing to life the remarkable story of an escaped slave-turned-magician.

- All programs are free and open to the public, starting at noon on Tuesdays.
