Jackson businessman Larry Kidd is one of several Republican primary candidates running for the 2nd Congressional District.

Jackson & the Second Congressional District — Larry Kidd is probably the Republican primary candidate farthest east within the district, with most of them in the western end near greater Cincinnati.

He says he is a small business owner in Jackson, with several businesses – including a staffing business, because he had trouble finding employees.

Kidd says small-town Jackson and rural Ohio have issues unique from larger cities, though he has also lived in them.

He said because of heavy regulation, red tape, and high taxes on his businesses, he has worked in several organizations to change regulations and give back to the community. Kidd says he is passionate about small business, and also recovery from opiates.

He says he has never run for government office before, but has served in his political party. Kidd says he testified in the Congressional Ways and Means Committee on unemployment, and that he understands the inner workings of government.

And as his latest radio advertisement states, he filed an amicus brief to the U.S. Supreme Court in support of Trump after he was taken off the ballot in Colorado.

He has a website and Facebook page.

Kidd had to reschedule his appearance in a lunchtime meet-and-greet by the Republican Women of Ross County…and then I missed it. But we met on a cold Friday afternoon in downtown Chillicothe just before he visited Southern Ohio Axe Throwing, catty-corner to the courthouse.

Hear him in his own words in the resulting interview video below…including his tag line, “there’s a new kid in town.”
