MARIETTA, Ohio (February 26, 2024) – The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 10 is seeking public input on potential options to improve safety on a section of U.S. 33 in Hocking County.
Project Goal:
The primary goal of the project is to reduce the number and severity of crashes along the four-lane divided highway between the Fairfield-Hocking County Line and Chieftain Drive (State Route 180).
Study and Options:
ODOT has evaluated current conditions and developed several options to enhance safety on this stretch of U.S. 33. These options range from maintaining the existing infrastructure to constructing interchanges, frontage roads, and even a potential realignment of the highway.
Public Meeting:
To gather public input on the proposed options and ensure the project’s success, ODOT is hosting an open house public meeting:
