Gallipolis, Ohio – Gallia County Sheriff Matt Champlin has issued a statement regarding a shooting incident that occurred on the evening of Saturday, March 23, 2024.
“At approximately 5:16 p.m., the Gallia County 911 Center received a call reporting a shooting in Gallipolis Township,” Sheriff Champlin stated.
Deputies from the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office swiftly responded to the scene at 106 Lower Garfield Road in Gallipolis Township. Upon arrival, they discovered two male individuals with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds.
“As the investigation unfolded, deputies also found that an additional male had sustained several lacerations to his body as a result of a stabbing,” Sheriff Champlin added.
All three individuals were promptly transported to medical facilities to receive treatment for their injuries. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, with authorities diligently working to gather further details.
“While the investigation continues, I want to reassure the community that there is no immediate threat to public safety stemming from this incident,” Sheriff Champlin emphasized.
