Chillicothe, OH – On March 2nd, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm, the Ross County Heritage Center invites the community to join in celebrating Statehood Day with a special event honoring Ohio’s rich history and heritage.
As part of the festivities, attendees will have the unique opportunity to view a special exhibit featuring original Ohio statehood documents, including Thomas Worthington’s personal draft of the 1802 Ohio Enabling Act. This exhibition provides a rare glimpse into the historical artifacts that played a pivotal role in shaping Ohio’s statehood.
Additionally, visitors can explore new exhibitions housed in the McKell Library and the McClintick House Museum, offering insight into various aspects of Ohio’s past. From local history to significant events and individuals, these exhibits offer an immersive experience for all ages.
One of the highlights of the celebration includes special living history presentations by Joseph Ogel’s Company, Ohio County Virginia Militia, at the Knoles Log House.
