The upcoming regular meeting of the Chillicothe City Council, originally scheduled for April 8, 2024, has been rescheduled to April 10 at 7:00 PM. The meeting will still take place in Council Chambers at 26 South Paint Street, Chillicothe, Ohio.

The decision to reschedule the meeting was made in recognition of the anticipated total solar eclipse occurring on April 8, which is expected to garner significant public interest. Discussions with Council Members revealed concerns that a quorum may not be available on that date due to the eclipse.

Rule 14 of the Rules of Council stipulates that a majority, consisting of five elected members, is required to constitute a quorum. To avoid inconveniencing the public, the press, and any officials who might attend, only to find that a quorum is not available, the meeting has been moved to April 10.
