CIRCLEVILLE – Valvoline is set to lead the way in the upcoming development of a gateway project in Circleville, which is anticipated to house multiple retail establishments.
The project site, situated on South Court and US-23 Connector Road just north of McDonald’s, is slated for development after the demolition of a former school and firehouse. An ordinance was proposed by the Director of Public Service seeking approval for a $250,000 improvement to the intersection at that location, aiming to convert the existing three-way intersection into a four-way junction.
The Director of Public Service addressed the council, emphasizing the necessity of this improvement in anticipation of the development potential of the old school and firehouse properties. The proposed upgrade would focus solely on enhancing traffic lights and road markings.
Schiff Properties, the driving force behind the arrival of Starbucks and City Barbeque in Circleville, assured the committee of a firm commitment to development. The company, with a portfolio spanning 16,000 locations across the U.S., is poised to commence construction in the city. Once established, there is potential for four additional businesses to join the location, with efforts underway to secure a steakhouse among them.
Among the first businesses to announce its involvement is Valvoline, which will erect a multi-bay facility at the intersection near Court Street.
