Pickaway – The fifth among nearly two dozen “super loads,” sets forth from a dock on the Ohio River near Manchester in Adams County, destined for Hebron in Licking County. This imposing load, weighing a staggering 549,000 pounds and measuring over 172 feet in length, marks a significant logistical undertaking.

Scheduled for departure on Friday, April 12, the convoy’s route is meticulously planned to ensure safe and efficient transit. The journey commences as the load is expected to depart from Fairgrounds Road onto SR 104 at approximately 9 a.m. From there, the convoy will travel north on SR 104, proceeding to SR 762 near Commercial Point, before making an eastward turn onto State Route 762 towards Rickenbacker Parkway.

Upon reaching Rickenbacker Parkway, the convoy will halt for an overnight stay at Rickenbacker, resuming its journey on Sunday, April 14, at 7 a.m. This strategic pause allows for rest and necessary logistical adjustments before continuing the arduous trek to Hebron in Licking County.

To keep local communities informed and facilitate smooth passage, updates regarding the convoy’s progress will be provided via social media channels. Residents are encouraged to follow their local ODOT District on social media platforms to receive timely updates as the convoy traverses through each county along its route.

The transportation of these “super loads” underscores the collaboration and coordination required to execute such complex logistical operations. As the convoy moves through various communities, motorists are reminded to exercise caution and adhere to traffic regulations, ensuring the safety of all road users.
