North of Chillicothe – I happened to encounter Superload number 10 on my way into town.
The first clue was pack of Highway Patrol cruisers and lift trucks in the opposite lanes where State Route 104 became the 207 Connector.
Then about a mile back was the load itself, having just passed under the Moundsville Road signal that was still being held up by a lift truck crew.
Matt Bruning, ODOT press secretary, caught it as it turned off the westbound US 35 freeway onto SR 104 northbound, then from the 207 Connector to SR 104. Follow his News Facebook page to keep track of the superloads with ODOT’s tower cam and drone photos of them en route.
As the Ohio Department of Transportation reported on their “Super Load Traffic Advisory” page:
This is the tenth of nearly two dozen “super loads” that will make their way from a dock on the Ohio River near Manchester in Adams County to New Albany in Licking County. This load is a tank related to the new Intel plant in Licking County. The load is 19’2” tall, 16’3” wide, 197’ long, and 436,410 pounds.

Previous superloads have been parked along Fairgrounds Road until being moved out between 8 and 9 the next morning.
