CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio – Circleville City Schools is excited to introduce the Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer (Summer EBT) program, also known as SUN Bucks, to Ohio families this summer. In a letter addressed to parents or guardians, Cheri Davis, Director of Food Services, outlined the details of the initiative aimed at providing additional support to eligible households.

Under the Summer EBT program, eligible households will receive a one-time $120 payment for each eligible child on a benefit card via mail. This benefit can be used to purchase food during the summer months at grocery stores, farmers markets, and other authorized retailers. To qualify, households must meet certain income criteria, with children enrolled in the school’s free or reduced-price meals program during the academic year being eligible.

Families interested in participating can apply for Summer EBT using the application available at sebt.ohio.gov. Applications must be submitted by August 16 to receive benefits for the summer. Parents or guardians are required to provide their child’s name, school, date of birth, household income, and address for benefit card delivery. While no documentation is needed to apply, applicants may be asked to verify their information.

It’s important to note that receiving Summer EBT benefits will not affect children’s or families’ immigration status. Additionally, in addition to Summer EBT, children under 18 years old in eligible households can receive free meals at designated summer meal sites throughout the summer. Families can find the nearest meal site by calling 1-866-3-HUNGRY or 1-877-8-HAMBRE, or by texting 914-342-7744 with the keyword “summer meals.”

For any questions or assistance regarding the Summer EBT program, parents and guardians are encouraged to contact the Summer EBT Helpline at 1-866-244-0071, option 1.
