Update: Child Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in Ashville

Ashville, OH – A 9-year-old child is recovering at home from injury after being struck by a vehicle on her birthday is at home now.

On June 30th, 2024 in the 100 block of Kraft Drive in Ashville, it was reported that the child was outside playing when a vehicle described as a grey Kia Optima with dark tinted windows, hit the child and then fled the scene following the incident. It was shortly afterward that she was found injured and crying.

The 9-year-old was rushed to Berger Hospital and checked for broken bones or internal injuries, mom reports that she was lucky and turned out to be bumps and bruises and nothing serious.

Residents in the area are urged to stay vigilant and report any sightings of the grey Kia Optima to the Ashville Police Department immediately. More updates will follow as the situation develops.
