July 2, Delaware County, Ohio — Earlier today, the Delaware County Dispatch Center issued a Be On the Lookout (BOLO) alert for a reportedly stolen white 2024 Toyota RAV4. The vehicle, which had been involved in multiple pursuits with various agencies, was last seen traveling on state Route 95 near milepost 20 in Richland County.
A sergeant from the Mt. Gilead Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol spotted the Toyota traveling south on state Route 95 in Knox County and initiated a traffic stop as it entered Fredericktown. However, the driver failed to comply, and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The chase was terminated near Mt. Vernon due to reckless driving and public safety concerns.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Aviation Unit, nearby at the time, tracked the vehicle from the air as it moved onto Interstate 71, passing through Morrow, Delaware, and Franklin counties. Ground units followed at a distance without lights or sirens activated. The vehicle continued south on Interstate 71, exited onto Interstate 270 westbound, and then proceeded onto State Route 315. Troopers attempted to deploy stop sticks near the Ackerman Road exit but were unsuccessful. The vehicle continued south on state Route 315, eventually merging onto Interstate 670 westbound and then back to Interstate 71 southbound.
The Aviation Unit tracked the Toyota into Greene County. The driver swerved to avoid stop sticks deployed by a trooper, lost control, and collided with a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Albert Seeney, 56, from Waldorf, Maryland. The Toyota then veered off the road and came to a stop.
The driver, identified as Tevin Marion, 29, of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and his passenger, Darius Thompson, 38, also of Ft. Lauderdale, were apprehended without further incident.
Marion was taken to the Clinton County Jail and charged with Failure to Comply with the Order or Signal of a Police Officer, a third-degree felony. He also faces misdemeanors for driving without a license, not wearing a safety belt, and failure to control. Additionally, Marion had an active felony warrant. He faces further charges in Knox County and from previous incidents with other agencies.
This incident remains under investigation.
