Chillicothe, OH – A routine traffic stop on Church Street near North Street has escalated into a major drug bust, resulting in multiple arrests and the seizure of various illegal substances and paraphernalia.

The incident began on July 5, 2024, when Patrol Officer Jonathan Davis observed a Red Ford on North High Street turning left onto Church Street without signaling. Upon initiating a traffic stop, Davis noticed suspicious behavior from the vehicle’s occupants, prompting him to call for backup and conduct a thorough search.

During the stop, Davis identified the driver as James Doyle and passenger Lindsay Allen, both of whom cooperated initially. However, a third occupant, later identified as Jason Dailey, refused to cooperate and was detained along with Doyle and Allen after a K9 unit alerted to narcotics in the vehicle.

A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered multiple items of drug paraphernalia, including burnt foil, straws with residue, and a white rock substance. Allen was found with 69 tablets suspected to be Xanax in her purse, along with a scale and additional drug paraphernalia in the back seat.

Doyle implicated Dailey in attempting to conceal contraband by instructing Allen to hide a yellow bag containing an unknown substance in her body cavity. This led to Allen undergoing a body cavity search at Adena Regional Medical Center, where she voluntarily removed a package described as a “fentanyl rock.”

Detective Adam Steele, who was called to the scene, assisted in obtaining a warrant for the cavity search and oversaw the collection of evidence. All seized paraphernalia and suspected drugs have been sent to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) for further testing and possible charges.

James Doyle was issued citations for traffic violations, while Lindsay Allen and Jason Dailey face multiple charges related to drug possession and trafficking. They have been booked into the Ross County Jail pending further legal proceedings.
