Franklin County – Vehicle Flees DUI Checkpoint, Crashes Near Route 665

At around 8:30 PM on Friday night, a dramatic sequence unfolded near Route 665 as a vehicle fled from a DUI checkpoint at US 62 and Parlin Drive, triggering a brief pursuit by law enforcement. The situation culminated in the vehicle overturning and crashing, prompting the apprehension of three individuals, one of whom was a juvenile.

According to reports, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to flip onto its side. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene to attend to the driver, who appeared to have sustained a broken ankle. The driver was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

In the aftermath of the crash, deputies also discovered a firearm at the scene. Fortunately, no deputies were injured during the incident.
