CHILLICOTHE, OH — A 46-year-old Chillicothe woman, Kathleen Mckenna, was arrested on July 29, 2024, after a brief pursuit and subsequent evaluation at Adena Hospital. Mckenna, who had an active arrest warrant, was apprehended following a series of events that began near the intersection of North Mulberry and East 2nd Street.

According to the report, the Officer was patrolling the area when he recognized Mckenna. Upon confirming her identity, the officer informed Mckenna of her outstanding warrant. The arrest did not go smoothly, as Mckenna, visibly distressed, informed the officer she was en route to visit a gravely ill family member.

Despite the officer’s efforts to de-escalate the situation and give Mckenna time to calm down, she became increasingly agitated. She repeatedly told the officer not to touch her and attempted to distance herself. When the officer moved to place her in handcuffs, Mckenna fled the scene while shouting “rape” as she ran.

The officer chased Mckenna and, after a brief pursuit, tackled her to the ground and placed her under arrest. During her subsequent transport to the rear of the patrol cruiser, Mckenna complained of breathing difficulties. An ambulance was called, and she was transported to Adena Hospital for evaluation.

Hospital staff evaluated Mckenna and determined she was in good health, advising that she simply needed to manage her breathing. After receiving clearance from medical personnel, Mckenna was taken to the Ross County Jail.

At the jail, Mckenna was processed and booked on charges including obstructing official business and resisting arrest. She was also served with her original bench warrant for charges related to trafficking in drugs, weapons under disability, and possession. Mckenna is scheduled to appear in Chillicothe Municipal Court on July 29, 2024, at 9:00 a.m.
