LAURELVILLE, OH — July 30, 2024 — The Jack Pine Glass Pumpkin Festival, a beloved annual event, is set to make its grand return to Hocking Hills for its fifth year. The festival, renowned for its stunning glass art and vibrant fall atmosphere, will take place from September 20 to September 22, 2024.
Held at the picturesque Jack Pine Studio in Laurelville, the festival will be open to visitors from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. With more than 10,000 attendees expected, festivalgoers are encouraged to carpool and can secure VIP parking for $5 starting August 8 at GlassPumpkinFestival.com. Each advance reservation comes with a $5 coupon for use towards a Jack Pine pumpkin purchase. Day-of parking will be available for $10 per car.
A major highlight of the festival is the unveiling of the coveted “Pumpkin of the Year,” a limited-edition hand-blown glass pumpkin by renowned artist Jack Pine. The event provides the first opportunity for enthusiasts to purchase these collectible pieces, renowned for Pine’s signature intense color saturation and unique finishing techniques.
Founded by Jack Pine in 2020 as a safe, outdoor arts escape during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Glass Pumpkin Festival has grown into a major attraction for those seeking beautiful fall décor and unique handcrafted gifts. This year’s festival will feature thousands of hand-blown glass pumpkins in a dazzling array of colors and finishes.
The festival will also showcase nearly 30 fine artists from the region displaying and selling their work in an outdoor artist’s market. Culinary delights from food trucks will include smoked lasagna, Louisiana bourbon chicken, Schmidt’s famous brats, Bahama Mamas, and fully loaded baked potatoes. Attendees can also enjoy pumpkin ice cream and mini donuts.
Live music from Ohio musicians will add to the festival’s vibrant atmosphere. Visitors will have the chance to watch Jack Pine’s team of skilled glassblowers in action, turning molten glass into exquisite art. Additionally, world-famous pumpkin carver Gus Smithister will create a spectacular design from a 600-pound pumpkin, while smaller pumpkins will be available for purchase.
Children can paint mini pumpkins to take home as a memorable keepsake from the festival. Jack Pine Studio, known for its hand-blown glass art and gallery, remains open daily throughout the year.
