A devastating accident occurred on Wednesday night in Amanda Township, Lancaster, resulting in the loss of a young life. Tahrea N. Maynard, a 37-year-old resident of Ashville, succumbed to injuries sustained in a single-vehicle crash on Ohio 674.
According to the Lancaster Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the incident happened around 10:04 p.m. near milepost 2. Maynard’s 2011 Kia veered off the right side of the road, striking a ditch and culvert before overturning and coming to rest over an embankment.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene, but unfortunately, Maynard was pronounced deceased by the Fairfield County Coroner’s Office. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating the crash, with assistance from the Amanda Township Fire Department, Clearcreek Township Fire/EMS, the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Department, and the Fairfield County Coroner’s Office.
