Chillicothe Police Apprehend Wanted Individual After Brief Pursuit

On August 9, 2024, at approximately 7:28 pm, Chillicothe Police Officer Shelby Lott was on patrol when she spotted Shane Seyfang, a male with an active warrant, walking southbound on Ewing Street. Upon confirming the warrant, Seyfang attempted to flee, leading to a brief pursuit that ended near Ewing Street and E 4th Street.

Seyfang was taken into custody and searched, revealing a used hypodermic syringe. He was transported to the Ross County Jail, where he was served with a warrant for probation violation and resisting arrest. Seyfang is also facing charges of obstructing official business and possession of a drug abuse instrument.

Seyfang is scheduled to appear in Chillicothe Municipal Court on August 12, 2024, at 9:00 am. The syringe was properly disposed of due to officer safety concerns. The incident highlights the Chillicothe Police Department’s efforts to apprehend wanted individuals and address drug-related offenses.
