Chillicothe, OH – Authorities are investigating the theft of a silver 2001 Lexus ES300 that was reported missing from Mary Lou Patton Park on August 21, 2024. The vehicle, which bears Ohio license plate KGA9753, was discovered missing after the vehicle’s owner, returned from a trip.

The victim had left the keys on the rear tire before traveling to New York around noon on Tuesday. Upon returning to Chillicothe at approximately 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, they noticed that the vehicle was missing. According to his account, the Lexus could have been taken sometime between 5 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on August 21.

The vehicle is described as having a large dent on the rear bumper on the right side and is insured by Allstate.

Chillicothe police have been working on the case and are awaiting security footage from the maintenance business where the car was parked. On August 22, the Detective reviewed surveillance footage from the business. The footage showed a white female on the property around 5:11 p.m., who remained on the site until 5:30 p.m., when a police officer drove onto the lot. By 5:58 p.m., the Lexus was seen leaving the property, heading south onto Renick Avenue. The footage did not clearly show if the female got into the vehicle.

Later that day, the Detective received information from Clark County Sheriff’s Office indicating that the stolen Lexus had been located in a parking lot. The vehicle was found in the possession of Christy Keck, 47 who was subsequently detained. A comparison of Keck’s photo with the description from Hampp confirmed her identity.

The Lexus was towed by Dan’s Towing, and the vehicle’s status was updated to reflect its recovery. Keck was charged with receiving stolen property and is currently in jail.
