COLUMBUS – State Senator Tim Schaffer (R-Lancaster) announced the Ohio Statehouse School Bus Transportation Grant Program will be open September 23 through September 30. The grant helps schools cover the cost of bus transportation for field trips to the state capitol.
“Visiting the Ohio Statehouse is a great opportunity for our next generation of leaders,” Schaffer said. “I hope local schools consider applying for this grant so that more students can learn about state government and what it means to be civically engaged.”
Grants will be awarded by the Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board (CSRAB) and the Capitol Square Foundation in partnership with Honda of America Manufacturing, Inc. Any Ohio school that receives state funding can apply. Grants are limited to 4th through 12th grade students during the 2024/2025 school year. A random lottery selection will be utilized to choose a number of schools from each category, which is determined by mileage from the Statehouse.
