LANCASTER, Ohio — Over the past week, the Lancaster Police Department (LPD) has made significant strides in combating drug trafficking and gun violence through targeted traffic stops and coordinated searches. The operation resulted in the seizure of 37 firearms, a variety of narcotics, and several arrests.
The LPD’s Directed Patrol Unit executed a series of traffic stops that led to the discovery of illegal activities, prompting searches at two residences. A search warrant was executed at 367 Hunter Avenue with the assistance of the LPD Special Response Team, while another was carried out at 7715 Marietta Road SE in Bremen, in collaboration with the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office S.W.A.T. Team.
During these operations, officers seized a total of 125 gabapentin pills, 1 ounce of suspected fentanyl, over an ounce of methamphetamine, cash, and drug paraphernalia associated with the sale of narcotics.
Three individuals have been arrested in connection with the case: Kevin Wells, 39, of Bremen, and Ashley Stover, 36, of Lancaster, are facing felony drug trafficking charges. Jordan Cameron, 42, also of Lancaster, is being held on felony drug possession charges. All three are currently detained at the Fairfield County Jail pending formal indictments.
“This case highlights the importance of cooperation among law enforcement agencies,” said a spokesperson for the LPD. The department expressed gratitude to the South Central Major Crimes Unit, the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office, and the Hocking County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in the investigation.
The LPD continues to encourage community members to report any suspicious activity, emphasizing that such cooperation is essential in maintaining public safety.
