Chillicothe Police Report: Notable Incidents from September 23, 2024

Chillicothe, Ohio – The Chillicothe Police Department responded to a variety of incidents on September 23, 2024, highlighting ongoing community safety efforts.

At 8:58 a.m., officers addressed a parking issue at 368 E. 2nd Street. Later that morning, around 9:35 a.m., police observed a male riding a bicycle against traffic on North Brownell Street, leading to further investigation regarding an active warrant and obstructing official business.

By midday, officers were dispatched to a residence on South Paint Street at 12:52 p.m. for a report of menacing by stalking. This case remains under investigation.

A concerning report came in at 1:50 p.m. from the 200 block of Scioto Avenue regarding a juvenile who had run away. Officers are actively investigating the missing person case.

Later, police responded to a theft report at Dollar General on East Main Street at 2:55 p.m., where a male subject was connected to a criminal mischief warrant.

In the afternoon, at approximately 3:36 p.m., officers arrested Michelle Detty on an active warrant for failure to appear. She was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Ross County Jail, where she will remain until her municipal court appearance scheduled for September 24.

As night fell, officers continued their patrols, with a male turning himself in at the jail for an active warrant at 8:58 p.m. A traffic stop was initiated at 11:46 p.m. for an expired license plate on a gray sedan, during which the driver acknowledged the expired registration.

The day concluded with a report of a suspicious vehicle at BP Oil Company on North Bridge Street, which is under investigation.
