Circleville, OH — William P. Riffe II, 33, of Columbus, has been found guilty of felonious assault and having weapons under disability, resulting in an 8 to 12-year prison sentence and restitution of $61,868.98.
The charges stem from a shooting incident that took place on June 10, 2023, on Villa Drive. The Circleville Police Department received reports of a disturbance in the area and arrived to hear gunfire. Officers quickly discovered that a person had been shot, while the suspect fled the scene.
A manhunt was launched, involving local police, the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office, the Ohio State Highway Patrol, and drone teams from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities identified Riffe as the suspect, but he managed to evade capture at that time.
In the weeks that followed, Circleville Police investigators tirelessly pursued leads, receiving numerous tips from the community. Their efforts culminated in a tip received earlier this week indicating Riffe’s location in Columbus. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Special Weapons and Tactics Team (S.W.A.T.) was contacted to assist in apprehending Riffe and his fiancé, Bobbi Jo Moore.
Moore, 46, also of Circleville, was charged with obstructing official business. She was found guilty of obstructing justice and sentenced to three years in prison.
Authorities continue to focus on community safety as they work to prevent similar incidents in the future.
