CIRCLEVILLE, OH—As the Circleville Pumpkin Show approaches, candidates for the title of Miss Pumpkin Show are eagerly preparing for the festivities.
Bre Anderson, a 17-year-old student at New Hope Christian Academy, is one of the contestants. Her parents are Abbey Scherer and Doug Anderson. Alongside her studies, Bre is actively involved in cheerleading, serves as Student Council President, volunteers, plays softball, and participates in 4-H and nursing school.
When asked what it means to be selected by her peers as a representative of her school, Bre expressed pride in being a role model. “It’s an honor to represent my school and community,” she shared.
Bre’s motivation to become Miss Pumpkin Show stems from her fond memories of the event. “I think of a fun festival that I look forward to every year,” she said, recalling her favorite moment as being crowned Little Miss in the first grade.
Her favorite Pumpkin Show treat? “Apple cider slushes and cheese on a stick,” she declared, highlighting the festival’s delicious offerings. She described the event as “a festival in the fall, with rides, food, contests, and huge parades every night.”
If given the chance to enhance the Pumpkin Show, Bre would suggest “more space for more people,” emphasizing the community’s eagerness to participate. As Queen, she plans to promote the festival by sharing her experiences on social media and encouraging greater involvement.
Bre credits her mother as the most influential person in her life, noting her unwavering support and encouragement. “She has done so much for me,” Bre said.
Among her proudest accomplishments is her journey as a nursing student, setting a foundation for her future.
As the Pumpkin Show draws near, contestants like Bre Anderson exemplify the spirit of the festival, combining community pride with personal ambition.
