CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – A serious stabbing incident occurred on October 18, 2024, in the Walmart parking lot at 85 River Trace Lane, prompting a swift response from local law enforcement.
At approximately 8:07 p.m., officers arrived to find a male victim with a fish hook lodged in his neck and multiple stab wounds. The victim, identified, was quickly transported to Adena Regional Medical Center for urgent medical care.
Through their investigation, officers identified a suspect, Dale Mootispaw, who was found near the scene. Mootispaw was observed with dried blood on his hands and clothing. He allegedly confessed to the stabbing during questioning.
The initial incident reportedly took place under the North Bridge Street bridge, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Ross County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities from the Sheriff’s Office were notified and subsequently took over the investigation.
Mootispaw was arrested for Felonious Assault and is currently in custody at the Ross County Jail. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities gather more details surrounding the circumstances of the attack.
