CIRCLEVILLE, OHIO — Lindsey Pyle has been found guilty on multiple charges, including robbery and assault, stemming from a July 12, 2023, incident at the Goodwill store located at 24799 US 23 in Circleville, Ohio. Following her conviction, Pyle has been sentenced to two years at the Marysville Correctional Institution.
The incident that led to her charges began when authorities were alerted to a theft and assault involving a female suspect who fled the scene with a grocery cart. Officers from the Circleville Police Department quickly responded and encountered Pyle as she was leaving the store.
In his report, an officer stated, “I exited my patrol vehicle and attempted to handcuff Lindsey Pyle. She resisted arrest, fled from me, and after falling to the ground, continued to resist and disobey lawful orders.” Pyle was eventually subdued and taken into custody.
Further investigation revealed that Pyle had entered Goodwill with a cart from Tractor Supply, filling it with merchandise. Eyewitnesses described her aggressive behavior, with one employee reporting that Pyle threw clothes at her, struck her in the mouth, and made threats before ramming the cart through the store’s doors. Another witness corroborated these accounts, stating he saw Pyle attempting to take stolen items and making threats of violence.
The stolen merchandise totaled $183.43 and was recovered following her arrest. Initially, Pyle faced charges of robbery, resisting arrest, obstructing official business, and two counts of assault.
In September 2023, the prosecutor filed for a competency evaluation to determine Pyle’s ability to stand trial, which resulted in her being found competent to proceed. The Pickaway County Court of Common Pleas has now concluded the case, and Pyle will begin serving her sentence at Marysville.
