PORTSMOUTH, Ohio — Caroline Johnson, a 36-year-old former teacher in the Bloom-Vernon Local School District, has pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a minor student.
Johnson pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual battery, each of which carries a prison sentence of one to five years. She will also be required to register as a Tier III sex offender for life.
Sentencing is scheduled for November 25.
The charges stem from an investigation by Yost’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation, which found that Johnson engaged in sexual activity with a minor while employed as a coach and intervention specialist at Bloom-Vernon Local Schools.
The case is being handled by the attorney general’s Special Prosecution Section.
