CIRCLEVILLE, OH — A familiar face has returned to the Circleville community as Thomas (Tommy) Royster has come out of retirement to serve as the city’s new bailiff. Royster, who retired from the Circleville Police Department shortly after the 2018 Pumpkin Show, brings decades of experience back to the role.
Royster began his career with the Circleville Police Department in 1987 as a dispatcher before transitioning to patrol the following year. Over the years, he has held various positions, including Dayshift Supervisor, Detective, Firearms Instructor, Field Training Officer, SWAT operator, and Narcotics Investigator. His dedication to public service has earned him numerous awards, including Officer of the Year in both 1995 and 2016.
With his extensive background and commitment to the community, Royster is set to make a positive impact in his new position. Residents and fellow officers alike welcome his return to active duty, demonstrating his continued dedication to the safety and well-being of Circleville.
