Pickaway – A serious crash has occurred on US-23 that has the roadway shut down around 3:30 pm
According to reports a crash occurred between a semi and a car about a mile past North Court Street on the Southbound side. Ohio State Patrol reported that according to a video provided by the semi-driver the Ford Escape was heading southbound and the semi-truck was alongside of it driving in the same direction when the SUV attempted to merge into the lane hitting the semi and both vehicles then lost control. The semi and the Ford left the roadway on the west side and went into a farm field where the semi rolled over on top of the SUV. Two people were inside the SUV when it was crushed by the fully loaded trailer. Luckly the driver and the passenger were able to escape the vehicle with only minor injuries. The semi-driver was also unharmed.
US-23 was shut down several times while Scioto Valley Wrecker service worked to roll the vehicle onto its tires and uncover the SUV. Due to the slowdowns several crashed occurred on US-23 and 104 throughout the night. Crashes at SR-762 US-23 and 104 in Commerical point while drivers attempted to avoid the crash zone.
