Chillicothe, OH — A lucky Leesburg man is $1 million richer after purchasing a Hit it Big scratch-off ticket at a Chillicothe market. Nathan Osborne, who stopped by Corner Market on 633 Charleston Pike for a quick errand, didn’t expect to leave with life-changing news.
Osborne, who bought a few lottery tickets while running errands, scratched off his Hit it Big ticket on his front porch once he got home. “I didn’t believe my own eyes,” Osborne said. “I could hardly breathe when I saw it.”
His ticket revealed a $1 million win, though Osborne opted for the cash option of $500,000. After mandatory federal and state tax withholdings, Osborne will receive approximately $360,000.
“I’m going to invest most of it,” he added, already planning how to secure his future with the newfound money.
The Hit it Big scratch-off is a $10 ticket with the potential to win a top prize of $40,000 per year for 25 years, but Osborne’s ticket was one of the remaining $1 million top prizes. As of November 5, 2024, there are still two $1 million top prizes left in circulation for the game.
The Ohio Lottery continues to provide exciting opportunities for lucky players like Osborne, and the Lottery has contributed over $32 billion to education in the state since its inception in 1974.
