Chillicothe Police Arrest Local Man After Altercation

On November 6, 2024, Chillicothe police officers arrested Raymond Michael Jr. following a confrontation in the area of Mulberry and 4th Streets.

Incident Details

While on patrol, Officer Joshua Wright encountered Michael, who was riding a bicycle and had an active arrest warrant. When informed of the warrant, Michael attempted to flee on his bicycle. The officer intervened, pushing Michael off the bike and onto the ground.

Michael resisted arrest, pushing off the officer and attempting to run. The officer maintained a grasp on Michael’s sweatshirt and upper body, tackling him to the ground. A bystander assisted in restraining Michael until additional officers arrived.

Charges and Injuries

Michael sustained injuries during the altercation, including lacerations to his elbow, ankle and hands. He is currently being held at the local jail on charges of:

  • Obstructing
  • Resisting Arrest
  • Active Arrest Warrant (APA)

The incident highlights the challenges law enforcement faces in apprehending individuals who resist arrest.
