A Newark man was arrested on multiple drug charges after a traffic stop on Friday, November 15, 2024, in Haydenville, Ohio. Deputies with the Hocking County Sheriff’s Office initiated the stop on Haydenville Road near Karnes Road after observing a traffic violation.
During the stop, deputies recognized criminal indicators, prompting them to call for K-9 assistance. Deputy Bentley and his partner, K-9 Bruno, responded to the scene, where K-9 Bruno conducted a free-air sniff around the vehicle. Bruno alerted to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle.
A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed approximately 16 grams of suspected methamphetamine and 11 grams of suspected fentanyl.
The driver, identified as Ibn Stanley of Newark, Ohio, was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated drug possession (a second-degree felony) and tampering with evidence. He was taken into custody and transported to jail.
