Chillicothe — A road rage incident turned violent according to a report on October 30, 2024, when a local man was assaulted after a series of dangerous driving maneuvers and a confrontation in the parking lot of an Olive Garden restaurant. The incident, which occurred at 1251 N Bridge St, is currently under investigation by the Chillicothe Police Department.
According to the police report, the victim was driving to work when another vehicle repeatedly cut him off, forcing him to swerve into oncoming traffic to avoid a collision. Fearing further danger, he pulled into the Five Guys parking lot to avoid the aggressive driver, but the other vehicle followed him there.
He then told police that after the vehicle threw an object at his car, he exited his vehicle to check for damage. In a moment of frustration, he threw his phone at the other car before attempting to track the vehicle’s license plate by walking through nearby bushes. As Parsley began to drive toward his workplace at Olive Garden, the other vehicle again cut him off, leading to a confrontation when he parked and approached the male driver.
He reported that the male driver then attacked him, swinging at him and eventually grabbing him by the throat. He told officers he was choked to the point where he nearly lost consciousness but managed to stay alert.
The victim provided police with video footage from his car’s cameras that captured parts of the incident, though the license plate of the assailant’s vehicle was not clearly visible. The video allowed officers to identify the assailant as a white male, of medium build, with brown hair, driving a red Dodge Charger.
Although his throat was sore from the choking, he declined medical attention at the scene. Police have taken photos of his injuries and are awaiting further evidence, including the video footage from his car, to assist with the investigation. Officers also canvassed nearby businesses for any additional security camera footage.
The Chillicothe Police Department is continuing to investigate the incident, and anyone with additional information is urged to contact local authorities.
