LONDONDERRY, OHIO — A routine response to a hit-and-run incident in Londonderry on Friday escalated into an arrest involving multiple charges, including falsification and probation violation.
At approximately 1:26 p.m. on December 6, 2024, Sgt. Champion of the Ross County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to 34321 US-50 to investigate a hit-and-skip accident. Upon arrival, authorities confirmed that a vehicle had struck a mailbox and a driveway marker before fleeing the scene.
The responding officer made contact with the driver, who initially provided a false identity. However, dispatch later determined that the individual had an active warrant under his real name. Upon further investigation, it was revealed that the suspect also had a warrant under the false identity he had initially provided.
The driver, identified as Bruce Mahon, was taken into custody. Mahon now faces charges of probation violation and two counts of falsification of an official proceeding. He was transported to the Ross County Jail, where he awaits further legal proceedings.
Authorities have not disclosed additional details regarding the warrants or the nature of Mahon’s probation violation. The investigation remains ongoing.
